Marilyn Kay (Juergens) Weaver, 83, died on November 4, 2023, in Vacaville, California following a series of strokes. She was born at home during a snowstorm in Percy, Illinois on February 2, 1940, to Ray and Minnie (Eggemeyer) Juergens.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her son Michael and husband of 54 years Gary, her sister Darlene Miller and niece Mary (Miller) Dejaro. She is survived by her daughter Laura Weaver and son-in-law Jon Linfor, daughter in-in-law Julie Melbourne-Weaver, four grandsons, Kyle and Paul Linfor, Preston Melbourne-Weaver and his wife Samantha, Lee Melbourne-Weaver and his fiancée Alexis Boyd-Holling, brother-in-law Jerold Miller, and two nephews, Jerry and Tom Miller.
Marilyn graduated from Sacramento State in 1970 with a B.A. in history and a teaching credential. She taught elementary school from kindergarten to fourth grade and retired from teaching in 2000. Marilyn was a member of the original “Cambridge Crew” when Cambridge Elementary opened in Vacaville in 1980.
Interested in history and culture, Marilyn and Gary were world travelers and visited all seven continents. They also traveled extensively all over the United States. Marilyn continued to travel after Gary’s death including trips to Ireland and France.
Marilyn was an out-going woman who made many friends and cultivated life-long relationships. She was energetic, determined and always had to have a plan. If you wanted to get something done, Marilyn was the woman to call.
The Weaver family were among the founding members of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Vacaville. Both Marilyn and Gary were active in the church, holding many different positions over the years. Marilyn’s last contribution to the church a week before she died was to organize the volunteer list for the Pumpkins on the Hill, a yearly activity which supports the church’s Community Feeding program and Opportunity House.

Marilyn will be interred next to Gary at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon on Thursday, December 7 at 1:30. Anyone wishing to attend should arrive by one o’clock.
