Obituary for Marilyn Jean Miller
Marilyn Jean Miller, 97, was called to her Father’s House July 24, 2021 after an extended illness. Born Aug 26, 1923 in Ridgway, Pa to Henry and Anna Weisenfluh, she was the second of four children.
Marilyn received her nursing certification in 1946. She was one of the shining representatives of her profession and ended her career as Director of Nurses at Del Rio, Tx Nursing Home.
After her husband retired from the Air Force they settled in Greybull, Wy. The family did a lot of camping in the Big Horn Mountains where she was the chief cook of all fish caught. After their children left home, they spent a memorable year RV’ing in the Southwest and Mexico before settling in Del Rio, Tx. In 2006 she moved to Vacaville to be closer to her daughter. They enjoyed many day trips especially to the wine country.
She is survived by her 3 children, Jean Sullivan of Vacaville, Ca, Patricia Williams of Cheyenne, Wy, Martha Miller of Laramie, Wy, and sister-in-law Diane Hane of Naples, Fl. She is also survived by 4 grand children, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband of 40 years Herbert, her parents, sister Norma, brothers Grant and William and great great grandchild Oaklee Mae.
The love of our Lord was deep and she cherished her fellow parishioners of St John Lutheran Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Aug 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at St John Lutheran Church. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
