When Liberty Farms closed down in 1969, they moved to Dixon and she continued doing work such as picking black walnuts, but was mostly was a homemaker. She loved helping take care of all the family, her birds and flowers, and spent much time tending to them. Since that time she has lived in Dixon near her son and the Mayoral family, of which she was the Matriarch and was best known as Tia Chuy. She had no fingerprints because they were worn off making tortillas for many years which were the best in the land, and she continued cooking well into her late 90’s. She was small in stature, but was one of the toughest and strong willed people that ever lived.
