Marguerite Millar, 98, passed away peacefully at Orchard Post-Acute Care following a brief illness. She was a resident of Park Forest, IL for 58 years. Marguerite was a devoted member of Faith United Protestant Church and the Park Forest Nurses Club. She was always willing to donate her time and leadership talents to a variety of charitable causes. In 2008 she came to Vacaville to live with her daughter and son-in-law; here she joined Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, in which she took great comfort. Marguerite obtained her R.N. degree and worked in New York City for several years in the 1930’s prior to her marriage. Marguerite is preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Phoebe (Sprung) Cotton; husband, Raymond and infant son, Raymond Jr. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Judy and son-in-law, Ted Neima; sister, Iva Brown and nephew, Kent Brown of Gloversville, NY; grandchildren, Amy Broxham (Tom), Jay Meloan (Bree) and Susanna El Mogazi (Raddi); great-grandchildren, Austin, Victoria and Willard Broxham, Nicholas Waldroup, Hannah and Nolan Meloan and Jasper and Marguerite “Margo” El Mogazi; great nieces, Kami and Trisha and countless other good people whose lives she touched during her own long and loving lifetime among us. The family is especially grateful for the staff at Vaca Valley Hospital and Orchard Post-Acute Care Nursing Home, all of whom showed Marguerite the utmost care and concern during her final days. A Memorial Service to celebrate Marguerite’s life will be held on Friday, September 13th at 10:30am at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. Her ashes will rest in the columbarium of Faith United Protestant Church in Park Forest, IL. The family requests that contributions in honor of Marguerite be made to the American Lung Association, National Wildlife Federation or a charity of your choice.
