Obituary for Margaret Gordon Kautz
Margaret Maggie Kautz passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 25, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry, daughter, Cyndie and her husband, Tim Gilliam. Maggie has 2 grandchildren, Cathy Woods and Patrick Gilliam (his wife Kassi) and 4 great-grandchildren, Joey, Kaija, Serena and Daxter, and brother-in-law, Vern Kautz (his wife Bonnie). Maggie also leaves behind a great number of friends and children that she taught during her 20 years at Silveyville Elementary School.
Maggie had a vivacious love of life. She loved to travel. She visited places such as Paris, Rome, Belize, and the Cayman Islands only to name a few. Her passions included her gardening, cooking and a love for reading. Maggie belonged to many organizations, one being the Tremont Mite Society which held an annual meeting at the Tremont Church that her great-grandfather helped build. Maggie had considerable ties to the community and she will be missed by all.
At Maggies request, there will not be a memorial service. She will be interned at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery where family and friends can pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Maggies name be made to the American Cancer Society.
