Obituary for Maree B. Cooper
Maree B. Cooper, a former Fremont resident for 42 years and resident of Vacaville for the last 5, passed away at Courtside Cottages on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. She was 92.
Mrs. Cooper was born on June 16, 1917, in Fullerton Neb. After receiving her masters in Sociology from Hastings College Neb., Marees accomplishments were many: providing care at psych wards in several mental institutions; working overseas for the Red Cross during World War II as a Recreational Worker; raising three children as a loving wife and mother; leading a troop of Campfire Girls and directing Day Camp; becoming an active member of Tri-City Ecology; participating in the League of Women Voters and P.E.O.; working on the committee that first established emergency number 911 and holding PTA offices and continuously attending City Council meetings to advocate for contemporary and local issues.
She is survived by daughters Roberta Vogel of Vacaville and Sandra Cooper of Napa, son Michael Cooper of Redding and grand daughters Lindsay and Megan Cooper. Memorial service will be held at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville, on Friday, April 23, at 1:00 PM.
