Obituary for MSGT Gerald D. Trivitt, Ret.
Gerald D. “Jerry” Trivitt passed away May 29, 2012 in Vaca Valley Hospital after a long battle with heart problems and other ailments. He was born in Buffalo, Arkansas, the son of Edgar Trivitt and Nora (Talburt) Trivitt, and moved to Calif., as a youngster. He graduated Vallejo High School and entered the Marine Corps. He married Eloise Azuar in 1950. He held many jobs including corrections officer and mechanic for the Flying Tigers. He then continued his military career in the Army serving in many places, including Korea, Alaska, Viet Nam, Hawaii, and Germany. After retirement he worked for the CHP as a vehicle inspector and at the Travis Air Force Base Golf Course. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, fishing, and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Orvin A. Nelson; his sister, Barbara (Trivitt) Dowell, and his sister-in-law, Mary (Wink) Trivitt. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Eloise; daughters, Laura (Don) Lancaster and Marie Trivitt- Galbraith; grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Treptow, Danielle (Neal) Harland, Nicole Trivitt, Kevin Adair Galbraith, Lloyd Galbraith, Clinton Galbraith, and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Harold (Betty) Trivitt; sister, Delores (Gene) Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews. The visitation will be Thursday, June 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, at 11 a.m., at McCune's. Burial in the Vacaville Elmira Cemetery on Elmira Road will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
