Obituary for Lula Mae Joseph-McClellan
Lula Mae Joseph-McClellan was born to Oretta Joseph and Chester Zardis December 24, 1926 in New Orleans, LA. She passed away February 16, 2010. Lula was a devout Catholic all her life and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bakersfield, CA. She was employed by the Kern County School District for 15 years and loved working at the 24th Street Pre-school. After retiring, Lula enjoyed visiting her son and family in Northern CA. She loved fishing, gardening and cooking her special Creole dishes for her family.
Lula was a devoted mother. She never missed any activities or special events they were involved in. When it came to her children, there was no problem too big or too small. She was always there for them and always helped any way she could.
Lula leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, Alvin J. McClellan and his wife, Deborah, of Fairfield CA, and a loving daughter, Ruth Ann McClellan, of Plano TX; grandchildren: Ronald Devon McClellan (Jacqueline) of Mission Viejo, CA; Danelle McClellanDonato (Terry) of Phoenix, AZ; Ashton Michael McClellan of Fairfield, CA; Jorden McClellan of Plano, TX; great-grandson Devon McClellan of Mission Viejo, CA; and a host of family and friends.
Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, March 19, 2010 at McCune Garden Chapel.
