Obituary for Lucy McCamy
Lucy McCamy, 59, of Vacaville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, at her home. She was born Sept. 3, 1952 in Oceanside, CA., to Henry Edgar Cox and Carolyn Tetherow. Lucy grew up in the Bay Area and came to Vacaville in 1973 where she met and married Tom McCamy. They spent most of their lives together in Vacaville. Lucy had several jobs while she lived in Vacaville. She worked as a waitress at Pietros #2, Activities Director at Winsor House, School Teacher at Vacaville Christian School and Writer as a food columnist for the Daily Republic. She owned a ceramic business but most of all she was a wonderful mother and wife. Lucy had many loves and interests to include; cross stitching, painting, ceramics, jewelry, reading, writing and best of all traveling with her husband and family. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Tom McCamy; brothers, George Mahoney and Clyde Mahoney; sister, Beth Cox, and step-mother, Emily Cox. She leaves behind her children, Juliet Hutton and Gabrielle McCamy; grandchildren, Marshall Grundy and Ariel McCamy; mother-in-law, Kathleen Lovece; brother-in-law, Bill McCamy and sister-in-law Carol McCamy. Visitation will be held 2 to 3 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 17, followed by memorial service at 3 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel in downtown Vacaville. Pastor Rick Villareal will be officiating. Reception will be immediately following at the families home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vacaville Storehouse, 1146 East Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville, CA 95688.
