Obituary for Louis Donley Callison
Don passed away peacefully on February 7. He was born on November 16, 1925 to William and Elsie Callison in Cleveland, Oklahoma where life was quiet, simple and honest and knowing your neighbor was a way of life. The values of family, community and country instilled in him made him proud to be an Okie.

Don came to Oakland in 1943 after enlisting in the Navy. He was stationed in Hawaii in WWII and was honorably discharged in 1954.

He began his career as an administrator at Crystal School and later with the County Office of Education where he spent his last working years as the finance director for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District until his retirement in 1984.

Don was a loyal fan of the Giants and the 49ers. He enjoyed bowling, golf and picnics and day trips with his family and was never at a loss with a corny joke.

Don was a dedicated and actively involved member of numerous fraternal organizations including the Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch, Commandry, Scotish Rite and a 55 year member of the Order of Easter Star to name a few. He was also a member of SIRS and a 50 year member of the Fairfield Rotary Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Jean, and his daughter Helen. He is survived by daughters Nancy and Donna and sisters-in-law Ethel Hoskins and Frances Callison and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held February 21 at 11:00 AM at the Masonic Center, 897 Cotting Lane, Vacaville. Burial arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to the Masonic Lodge, PO Box 292, Vacaville 95696.
