Our family unexpectedly lost our family’s matriarch, Lorraine Marie Saragosa. Lorraine passed away on April 30th, 2023, surrounded by all those that loved her. She was 86 years old. Lorraine was born and resided in Dixon on the family farm her whole life. After she graduated from the Dixon high school, she dedicated herself to working on the farm and shortly after, joined the Dixon Unified School district, where she worked for many years and retired in 1990. Many of the community knew her as their bus driver, something she loved to do while employed with the school district. After retirement, she enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling abroad with her best friend Gloria Basinger. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play soccer and attend other school functions.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and John Vanetti and she is survived by her two children, Lori Saragosa and Lyndon Saragosa, grandchildren Jessica Lopez, Maria Arellano, John M Lopez, and Christian Saragosa, great grandchildren, Marc Arellano, Krystine Lopez, Izabella Lopez and Ava Lopez, and extended family and dear friends.
