Obituary for Linda Diane Placke
Linda Diane Placke passed away peacefully on the morning of January 16th at Kaiser Hospital, Vacaville. A service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 30th at Trinity Baptist Church in Vacaville. Immediately following the service a gathering honoring Linda will be held at the church in the Family Ministry Center.
Born on February 5, 1960, Linda lived in Vacaville all her life graduating from Vacaville High School in 1978. Linda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Kurt Rainer Placke along with their beloved dog Cady; her mother, Anna M. Standifer; her sister, Cynthia (Mark) Collins; nephew and niece, Gregory and Laura Collins; along with uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Linda is predeceased in death by her father, Billy Joe Standifer.
Linda enjoyed laughter. Her quick wit and comebacks made her personality infectious and a joy to be around. Linda was crafty in cross-stitch, crochet, tole painting and home decorating. In spite of Linda’s physical limitations, Linda always had a good happy spirit. Linda never failed to remember her friends and family with handmade gifts created in love and designed specifically for them.
Linda was a devoted follower of Nascar (go Kevin Harvick), the SF Giants, and the 49ers. Linda also loved pink and adored the bouquets of roses her devoted husband, Kurt, would bring to her from their rose garden. Linda would want to honor and acknowledge Kurt in his total devotion to her physically and emotionally especially during the last years of her life. Linda loved Kurt with all her heart.
Linda loved the Lord Jesus Christ and regularly read the Bible and enjoyed bible studies. Linda has blessed us all with her joyous spirit and is now in the presence of the Lord alive and anew with joyful praise. Linda would not have you in sorrow, but happy and celebrating her arrival in heaven.
Linda will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on February 1, 2016 at 10:30 am. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 401 W. Monte Vista, Vacaville, CA 95688.
