Obituary for Leslie Allen Pugh
Leslie Allen Pugh, aged 94Deceased March 6, 2011, of natural causes in Grapevine, Texas. Full military funeral ceremony, graveside, Winters Cemetery, Winters, California. Ashes to be buried together with his wife, Grace Viola Pugh, deceased Nov. 1, 2000.July 1, 2011, 11: 00 am.Born in Woodland CA in 1917, Leslie leaves three daughters: Sandra J. Lamb of Jacksonville, Fla., Leslie A Atkins, of Santee, CA, and Laura D. Pugh of Grapevine, Texas, plus five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Leslie and Grace moved to Leisuretown, Vacaville, from Fairfield in 1969 and he remained there until 2008. They traveled the USA and Canada in their motorhomes. They had been members of the Improved Order of the Redmen and Degree of Pocahontas, and were active members of the McBride Senior Club in Vacaville, CA. Leslie was a retired Warrant Officer from the U.S. Navy, serving mostly on submarines such as several built on Mare Island, CA. Leslie's grandmother Augusta Sears owned the land in Winters where the old Post Office was installed in 1906 when the railroad first came to Winters. He fondly remembered his long life in California, from San Diego to Sacramento, the last years in company of some wonderful friends around Vacaville. Anyone who would like to come and share a few words at his full military burial will be warmly welcomed by his three daughters, 3 of his grandchildren, and the youngest little great granddaughter.
