Obituary for Leona Arnold
Leona was born on April 28, 1922 to William and Mae Cahill in Saskatoon City, Saskatchewan, Canada. They moved to Los Angeles when Leona was an infant. There she met the love of her of her life Jack (Jack) Arnold. They got married January 27th 1946. Together they had 2 sons Richard (Maria) and Daniel (Gwen). Leona was involved in many clubs including 60 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Widows Club, Canadian Women's Club, the Lunch Bunch, Buncos Group, Master Gardeners, Senior Center, and the Catholic Women's Club. Leona volunteered for 16 years at the thrift shop, also seating guests at the theater, and the hospital. She was a seamstress her whole life. She retired from the Los Angeles School District cafeteria after 10 years. Jack and Leona bowled in a league. Jack started a fishing and camping club called the Vagabundos Del Mar. They traveled with the club in their RV and also with her brother Ambrose (Pat) and his wife Margaret. They crossed the United States twice also spending time in Canada. Leona loved sewing and cooking for her family and friends serving many wonderful dinners. Leona is survived by her grandchildren Sandra, Jonathan, Kaylyn, Chris, Christine, Raina, and Billy. Great grandchildren Devyn, Jack, Victoria, Brandon and Kayla. Leona was preceded in death by great granddaughter Kayla siblings Ambrose, Charles, Margaret and Clara. She is survived by her sister in law Mary (96) and many nieces and nephews. Leona and Jack moved to Vacaville to be closer to their boys in 1985. Rosary Thursday April 26th. Visitation from 5pm to 8pm. Rosary at 7pm at McCune Garden Chapel 212 Main st Vacaville. Mass is on April 27th at 10am at St Mary's 350 Stinson ave Vacaville. Private internment.
