Leo B. Valadez Jr. was born on September 6, 1949, in Vallejo, California. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 5, 2024, at his home in Vacaville after battling several health issues. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Leo Valadez and Catalina Valadez (Acosta), brother Robert Carrillo, sister Julie Estrada, wife Mary Valadez (Fair), and son Justin Valadez.
Leo was a lifelong resident of Vacaville and graduated from Vacaville High School in the Class of 1967. He enjoyed working as a security guard at numerous concerts, football games, and events, often sharing stories about his experiences. In addition to his work, he loved camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family. His grandchildren were his greatest joy.
He is survived by his daughter Luwana Bogardus (Valadez), her husband Bryan Bogardus, and grandchildren Manuel Esquer and his wife Rahne, Christian Esquer and his wife Brittney, Jenna Valadez, Devon Valadez, Tabitha Bogardus, and Brody Bogardus, as well as five great-grandchildren.
A private burial will take place at Elmira Cemetery. Following this, a memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Orchard Avenue Baptist Church, located at 301 N. Orchard St., Vacaville, CA, in the Family Center. All are welcome to attend, and lunch will be provided.
