Obituary for Lee V. Heldt
Lee V. Heldt passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2021, surrounded by both of his devoted daughters and his beloved wife of 46 years. He was called to eternal life much too soon.

Lee was born in Evansville, Indiana, on October 10, 1945. Lee was an accomplished student: he attended DePauw University, graduating with a BA in Biological Studies; Michigan Technological University, graduating with a MS in Physiology; University of Michigan, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery; and University of Nebraska, earning his Doctor of Medicine. Lee was a talented oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Lee proudly served as a Colonel in the United States Air Force where he was the Director of Oral and Maxillofacial training at Travis Air Force Base. After retiring from the Air Force, Lee enjoyed 25 years of private oral surgery practice in Vacaville.

Lee was a renaissance man who truly embraced life and all who knew him delighted in his company. His passions included golf, wine, and travel. His deepest love was for his family: wife Kalo Heldt, daughters Katharine (“Trina”) Falace (Steve) and Amanda (“Mandy”) Donovan, grandchildren Stuart Falace, Emmet Falace, Margot Donovan and Mallory Donovan, brother Lloyd Heldt (Pat), nephews James Heldt (Laura) and Dan Heldt (Rose), sister-in-law Ellen Geier (Jim), niece Sarah Vest (Jason) and nephew Jonathan Geier. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Heldt, and father, Emery Heldt.

There will forever be a void in our lives.

A service will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on July 21, 2021, at 3 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lee's memory be made to the Marine’s Memorial Foundation (marinesmemorial.org) or NorthBay Hospice www.northbay.org/services/hospice-bereavement
