Obituary for Larry Heynen
On November 30 Lawrence Larry Heynen passed away after a car accident, at the age of 46.
Larry was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He was a person generous with his time and treasure. Terri, his loving wife of 22 years, and Larry met at the U.S. Army Ordnance Officer Basic Course in Huntsville, Alabama in 1987, and married later that year. They have 5 beautiful children; Matthew (19), Megan (16), Samantha (14), Jack (4), William (17 months).
Larry was an inspiration to us all. He was a family man for the long haul. He had much more to give-but the Lord had a different plan and called him early. Although we may not understand why, the Lords wisdom is infinite, and we will continue on, guided by the memory of his selfless example to family, friends, and community.
Larry was thoughtful. He was a servant to everyone. To his family, he was their strength for 22 years. To his parents, he was a lifelong joy. To his brothers and sisters, he was an example to emulate as they built their families. To his friends he left a void that will never be filled. To his country, he served as an Officer in the US Army Reserve for seven years, attaining the rank of Captain.
Larry had unmatchable wit and wisdom. He worked hard as a loyal representative for the Pfizer Corporation, touching many in the Healthcare profession. He was held in high esteem by those he worked for, his peers, and those he mentored. He was a friend of his clients as well as his co workers.
Larry never tired of contributing to Church activities. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, and helped Church youth groups prosper. His leadership and camaraderie on the Basketball and Soccer Fields is legendary. He was a respected city league soccer coach, as evidenced by the many young people in town wearing red in honor of their love for him. His smiling face will be missed but our memories of him will remain forever.
Larry is also survived by his parents Jerome and Phyllis of Redlands, CA, his brother Steve of Phoenix, AZ, three sisters, Barbara Maule (Patrick) of Colton, CA, Mary Orban (Steven) of Redlands, CA, and Patti of Redlands, CA. He was a loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend his visitation from 5:30 to 8:00 on Monday Dec. 7 with Rosary Recitation at 7:00 at the McCune Garden Chapel 212 Main Street in Vacaville, CA. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 Tuesday Dec. 8 at the Saint Peter Catholic Church 105 South 2nd Street. The interment procession and services will follow at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Midway Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heynen Family Fund at the Wells Fargo Bank, 1235 Stratford Ave, Dixon 95620.
