Obituary for LaJuan Chartier
Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend LaJuan Newcomb Chartier left our world on April 5, 2019. She was born In Hot Springs, Arkansas on October 1, 1940. LaJuan is survived by her brother Jerry Newcomb, sister Catherine O’Dell, beloved husband John Chartier, her son David Tillotson (wife Jeanette), stepson John Chartier Jr., daughter Teresa Smith (husband Whitney) and Arlene McCann. She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Amy Gayler, David Tillotson Jr., Sarah Doane, Sonja Epps, Jessica Hume and Thomas Rice, Beth McCann, Kelly McCann and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Alf Newcomb and Sylvia Evelee Vaughn, her brothers James and Devon (twin).
LaJuan lived most of her life in Solano County. She went to Armijo High School in Fairfield CA, became a successful business owner and retired from the Department of Mine Safety & Health. She spent her retirement years in the senior community of Leisure Town in Vacaville, CA.
LaJuan dearly loved her family and friends and would give anything she had to anyone needing it. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. She is laid to rest in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Ca.
