Obituary for Kit Carson Plotner
Kit Carson Plotner passed away on March 12, 2020 at the age of 74. Kit was born in Vallejo on Aug. 5, 1946 to Blanche Anna Elias and Fred Samuel Plotner. Kit graduated Hogan High School in Vallejo, CA in 1964 and shortly thereafter he volunteered for the draft and honorably served as a US Army Ranger in Vietnam. Upon returning from the war, Kit planted his roots in Vacaville on his ranch where he called home for 52 years. He obtained his Certificate of Apprenticeship through the department of the Navy as a journeyman pipefitter where he worked for many years at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He had a strong passion for hunting, fishing, NASCAR, working on his property and spending time with his family and his friends. Kit was a lifetime member of the NRA and the Disabled American Veterans Group. He loved his fellow service men and women and all those who served this great country just as he did. Kit suffered no fool, had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. Kit enjoyed helping others and always opened his door to those in need or just for good company. Kit will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his father Fred Plotner and his mother Blanche Plotner. He is survived by his son, Shawn Brown. A memorial service honoring Kit will be held Tuesday, August 31st at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville followed by a graveside commencement. Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Group.
