Obituary for June Rebecca Dubach
June Rebecca Dubach passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after an almost two year battle with renal cancer on Aug. 29. June was born in Sonoma, on June 15, 1951 to Floyd and Maxine Streeter. She was the second child for the family of eight. June's early childhood was spent living on the family dairy farm in Sonoma. Her family also lived throughout the Sonoma area as June grew up. The Streeters moved to Point Reyes, Santa Rosa, and Sebastepol before deciding to settle in Dixon. June graduated from Dixon High School in 1969. After graduating, June met the love of her life, Jerry Dubach. June and Jerry were married at St. Peter's Church on Nov. 2, 1969. June's first job was at the local doughnut shop. June and her sister, April were in a car accident and April needed someone to cover her shift at the shop. Of course, June was happy to oblige to help her sister. That job lasted one day! June also worked at a local clothing store and the Dixon Cannery before opening Jed's Towing with her husband Jerry and his brother Jay in 1985. Although June was extremely involved in the family business, her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. June enjoyed sewing and was an amazing seamstress, sewing her own wedding dress and countless Halloween and theatrical costumes for her children and grandchildren. June was a wonderful cook and baker, and loved hosting an annual Christmas cookie day for her sisters, daughters in law, granddaughters and friends. During their childhood, June spent summers camping with her sons and in more recent years enjoyed traveling to Colorado by train to visit her sister, Marsha. She also traveled with her son to Boston and fulfilled a life long goal of traveling to New York City. Her favorite place to visit by far was Disneyland. Her family cherishes wonderful memories of vacations to the happiest place on earth. June is survived by her son, Jerry II and daughter-in-law, Katie; son, Justin and daughter-in-law Emily; granddaughters, Maya, Scout,Harlow, Jemma, and Jorjia, all of Dixon; sister, Marsha Streeter of Grand Junction, CO; sister, Audrey Volkerts and brother-in-law Gary; sister, Lori Lyles and brother-in-law, Ron and nephews, Griffon and Connor Lyles of Sacramento. June also leaves behind many cousins, great nieces and great nephews. June was preceded into death by her husband, Jerry Dubach; her parents, Floyd and Maxine Streeter; her sister, April, and her brother, Allen. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made in June's name to Yolo Hospice or an animal rescue of your choosing. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m., at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, 569 N. First St., Dixon
