It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith Meyring, the beloved matriarch of our family. Judy passed at the age of 85 on April 14, 2025.
Judy and her identical twin sister Joy were born in Columbus, Indiana. Shortly after marrying her high school sweetheart, Judy moved to California and settled in Vacaville. Although the marriage did not last, Judy was blessed with 3 children whom she raised as a single mother while working at American Home Foods as the Purchasing Manager and going to college at night. After retiring from AHF Judy worked for the City of Vacaville, mostly the McBride Senior Center, for over 20 years. She also volunteered for many years and up until a couple of months before her death for both the Vacaville Police Department and the California Highway Patrol. She always had endless energy, and she loved being a part of something bigger than herself. Most important to Judy were her family and friends. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with beloved friends, gardening, cooking and the occasional glass of wine…or two! Throughout her life she touched the hearts of many with her strength, resilience, and spunky attitude.
Judy was preceded in death by her son, Mark Mobley. She is survived by her daughter Kim (David) Gordon and son Christopher Mobley; grandchildren, Monica (Oscar) Hernandez, Avery (Matthew) Welch, Toni Mobley, Kevin Mobley, Jacob Gordon, Kelly Gordon, Regina Mobley, and Nicholas Gordon and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at McCune’s Garden Chapel in Vacaville on May 3rd at 11:00 with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to 4 Paws Pet Rescue in Vacaville. Fourpawspets08@yahoo.com. This rescue is currently taking care of Judy’s beloved German Shepherd Prince, who was so very important to her.
