Obituary for John Michael (Mike) Lopez
John Michael (Mike) Lopez passed away at his home in Vacaville on March 6, after a brief illness. He was born in Oakland, and moved to Vacavillle with his family in 1966. He attended many local schools and worked for American Home Foods in Vacaville for more than 30 years. He later worked for C&H Sugar Company. He had many hobbies such as woodworking and fishing, and he was a lifelong fan of the Oakland Raiders and the A's. His greatest passion was playing drums for a number of local bands and was proud to be a founding member of J.T. & The Cheaters. His greatest pride were his twin boys Joseph and Julian Lopez, both of Vacaville. Other survivors include sister, Lucy (Steve) Eichmann Of Vacaville; brothers, Daniel (Dan) of Vallejo, Anthony (Tony) and Joseph (Joe) of Vacaville; sister, Diane Glaeser and husband, Cony Glaeser of Hendersonville, TN; nieces and nephews, Allyse Lopez of Vacaville, Elizabeth Eichmann of Oakland, Kristen and James Eichmann of Vacaville, Tyler and Elena Glaeser of Hendersonville, TN; uncles, Manuel Saenz of Vacaville and Julian (Pete) Saenz of Fremont, along with many beloved cousins. Also former wife and friend, Julie Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Dolores Lopez and brother, Arthur Lopez. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 13 at 1 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel. There will be a gathering at his family home following the service for friends and family; pictures and memories are encouraged to share.
