Obituary for Joey Plain
Joey Plain, at the age of 76, passed away on April 2 in Vacaville. Born in Oakland, he was raised in the East Bay. He resided in Clearlake, Napa and Vacaville.
Joey was a Professional Motorcycle Racer and a member of the Richmond Ramblers Club. He was in the boat business in Clearlake for about 8 years before beginning his 27-year career as a Senior Sales Manager for American Honda Motor Company.
Joey was a member of the Napa Valley Masonic Lodge, Vacaville Masonic Lodge and the SIRS 99 Club of Vacaville.
Joey was a kidney transplant survivor for 12 years. His family was thankful to the U.C. Davis Kidney Program and doctors who gave him those years of a good quality of life for him and his family.
Joey's passion was golf, he was on the course as often as he could, sometimes not as healthy as he wanted to be.
Joey was a real family man. He loved his wife Margie (Pumkin) of 46 years, all of his kids and grandkids. Joey is survived by his wife Marjorie; his children Hank (Tina) Plain, Joel (Kristen) Plain and Kelli (John) Boyd; his brother Kenneth Harvey; and sisters Michaeleen Dalleske, Billie Wooldridge and Jacklyn Plain; his grandchildren, Heather, Carter, Joseph, Madisyn, Tanner and MaKenna; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Telma Plain; brother James Plain; and sister Thelma Pyatt.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 9 at 12pm followed by funeral service at 1pm at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main Street, Vacaville, CA. Private burial will be held at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
