Obituary for Joe Palacio
Joe passed away on Wednesday, March 21, at the age of 63, at his home in Vacaville, surrounded by his wife and children. Joe fought a six year battle with cancer that left all who knew him in awe of his courage and strength. He lived each day to the fullest and cherished his family. Joe grew up in Port Costa, Calif., and graduated from John Swett High School in Crockett. He served in the Military from April of 1968 until April of 1970. Joe retired from C&H Sugar Company after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed playing softball, water skiing and camping with the family as well as restoring classic vehicles. Joe loved to travel and took several trips to Europe with his wife, Shelley. Joe is survived by Shelley, his devoted wife of 37 years; son, Sean Palacio and his wife Sharyl; daughter, Alanna Flores and her husband Lou; son, Marcos Palacio and his wife Katie. Joe is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex, Alyssa, Antonio, Dominic, Isaiah, Julia, Carlos, and Scarlet. He leaves behind five sisters; three brothers; and numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marcelino Palacio, and his granddaughter, Natalie Monique Flores. Vistiation Services will be held at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville, on Tuesday, March 27, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 28, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, on the corner of Hemlock and Stinson St., Vacaville.
