Obituary for Jimmy D. Miller
Jimmy D. Miller, 87 of Vacaville was born on January 15, 1933 to Charles and Mary Miller in Cushing, OK, one of eight children. He was raised in El Cerrito, CA where he graduated from El Cerrito High in 1951 before joining the Air Force at age 18 to become an aircraft mechanic. Shortly thereafter he married Robbie Charlene Miller in 1954 and they had three children. They have been stationed in the Philippines, Utah, Novato, Texas, France, South Carolina, Thailand, Okinawa and finally landed here in Vacaville where he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1971. He then worked at Buchanan Field in Concord for almost 20 more years doing Airport maintenance and crash fire rescue.
In his leisure time he and Charlene enjoyed traveling cross country to Oklahoma and Arkansas where they discovered their love for genealogy. He also loved watching baseball, Jeopardy and building tree houses for his grandchildren. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Miller; son, Randy Miller (Colette); daughter, Robin Riedel (Rick); daughter, Christy Moffitt (Rick); grandchildren, Jason Miller, Samantha Gonzalez (Joshua) and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Penelope, Hudson Gonzales and honorary family, Ronald Balcom and the late Oleta Balcom.
A military burial with honors will take place at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
