Obituary for Jessie Jean (Long) Leppert
Jessie was born to Jesse Monroe and Monnie Eletress (Hinkle) Long in Weinert, Texas. Her family moved to O'Donnell, Texas, where she graduated from high school. In 1943 she met her husband-to-be, George Arthur Leppert, a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, stationed at Childress Air Field, Childress, Texas. They were married March 4, 1943. Jessie was a world-wide traveler...including trips to Europe, the far east, Mexico, Canada and all fifty states. She was an avid (and excellent) bridge player. She would never miss a garage sale. Jessie was employed by the Civil Engineering Squadron at Travis Air Force Base for many years, where she retired. She was a member of the Elks Lodge, Vacaville.
Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, George. She is survived by her children Gregory Leppert and Georganne (Richard) Harrison; her grandson Carl Leppert and his mother Kathi, her granddaughters Jean (George) Lizarraga, Liberty (David) Corman; great grandchildren Marina (Jeremiah) Bolton, George R. Lizarraga, Aden, Eletress and Holton Corman; and a great, great grandchild Kinsley Bolton.
A visitation will be held at McCune Garden Chapel at 11. a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. A memorial service will be held at the chapel following the visitation. Interment will be private. A reception will be held at the Vacaville Elks Lodge immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your charity of choice.
