Obituary for Jean (Regina) Williams
Our loving mother and grand-mother, Jean Williams, of Dixon passed away on Jan. 21, at the age of 79. Jean was born in Karlsruhe, ND in 1937 where she was raised with her 14 brothers and sisters. At 17 years of age, upon high school graduation, she boarded a bus and moved to Sacramento, CA. It was here that she met her husband to be, Joe Williams whom had recently returned from serving in Korea.
She and Joe moved to Dixon in 1962 where they owned and operated Dixon Florist & Gift Shop together and later with the help of their daughters for 54 years running. It is in Dixon where they raised their son and three daughters and formed many close friendships. Jean was extremely active in the community, various service clubs, and numerous volunteer organizations. Serving as President for YLI, Soroptimist, and The Dixon Chamber of Commerce. In 1994 Jean and Joe were honored as Dixon's Citizens of the Year.
Jean was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always loving, patient, and kind. Jean was very devoted to her family and will be sadly missed and remain in our hearts forever. Not only by her loving family but by her endeared friends.
Jean is survived by her four children; son, Scott and wife, Andrea Williams of San Luis Obispo; daughter, Melissa and husband, Chris Taylor of Dixon; daughter, Courtney and husband, Matt Kett of Dixon; daughter, Dana and husband, Mike Martin of Vacaville; 13 grandchildren, Dustin Williams and wife Katy, Joey Williams and fiance, Dominique, Blake Williams and fiance, Lauren, Doug Williams, William, Seth and Sutton Taylor, Hunter, Lily and Katie Kett, Ashtin, Abby and Emmy Bechtold; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Emmett Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Williams; son, Brad Williams, eight siblings, and her parents, Frank and Catherine Feist.
A rosary will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church at 5 p.m., on Sunday, Jan. 29. Funeral service will be held at St Peters Catholic Church at 10 a.m., on Monday, Jan. 30. McCune Garden Chapel entrusted.
