Obituary for Jean C. Murphy
Our mother, best friend and confidante passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mom lived what most would call an "ordinary" life; falling in love, marrying, becoming a mom, raising four children, having a career, becoming a grandmother, taking care of aging parents, retiring, caring for her dying husband, becoming a great-grandmother, and volunteering at a local hospital. Out of "ordinary," Mom created a wonderful life for our family. She was the glue that held us together in a tight, loving unit. She taught us to be decent people, guided us in raising our own children and nurtured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those of you who were lucky enough to know her, understand what a great and loyal friend she was. Her life was filled with love and laughter because of her strong relationships. All of you ladies know who you are and we are grateful that you were in Mom's life.
Mom lived and died with dignity. She was strong in her faith and had prepared all of her life for her ending. She lived by the rules, treated friends and family with love and respect and reaped what she sowed. Her "ordinary" life became an extraordinary experience because she gave so much of herself. Her wisdom, strength, decency and love created the fabric of who we are.
We thank God that through His divine plan, we came to be the children of Tom and Jean Murphy.
Mom and Dad left behind four adult children and their spouses, Tammy and Paul Fullerton, Shelley and Daniel McCready, Shannon and Mike Harrington and Tommy Murphy; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, DeAnna and Jeff Jones, Dennis and Stephanie Pecorella, Paul and Marie Fullerton, Ryan and Erin Fullerton, Shannon and Jimmy Castro, Jennifer and Mark Hoffman, Josh and Ashley Harrington, Aubrey and Madison Murphy; and 15 great-grandchildren, Tori and Jeffrey Jones, Gage, Mason, Cameron, Logan and Dylan Fullerton, Chelsea, Kyle, Tyler Castro, Jack and Delilah Harrington, Sofia Pecorella, Maggie Hoffman and soon to come, Alexa Jean Fullerton
