Jason Kyle (Jay Dog) Tracy began riding the bike path to Heaven, whipping the 360 and perfecting his tail whips on August 4th, 2024. He was born in 1975 to Anastasia Bethel in Wichita, Kansas. Anastasia and Richard Tracy were married in 1978. In late 1978, the family moved to Dallas, Texas where they lived until 1983, when they moved to California to be near Anastasia's family.
Jason attended schools in Suisun and Fairfield. Later receiving his High School Diploma at Davis Adult School. He then attended a community college and studied auto mechanics. He worked as an auto mechanic at Ron Dupratt Ford in Dixon, CA. as well as delivery companies such as Amazon.
He met his wife, Mercedes DeLeon in 1998 uniting with her and her two young daughters, Christina and Alexus to form a family. Jason and Mercedes had a son, Jason Kyle Tracy, Jr. in 2003. They raised their children in a loving home. Jason was an exceptional father to the children and grandfather who loved spending time with them. Family was his biggest joy and came first to Jason.
Jason's passion was BMX. If he wasn't working, fixing something, or helping someone he would be out with his son cramming 2 bikes in his Grand Am Riding and doing BMX stunts with his son. As a teenager he rode frequently with his best friend Jason Sloan. Jason Tracy also liked spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and working on cars.
In August 2022, Jason was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease, an incurable and fatal disease. He was treated through Kaiser Permanente's ALS program until his final day. He was visited by family and many of his childhood friends in his last few days of life which brought him great pleasure and joy. Mercedes DeLeon Tracy and daughter Alexus stayed in the hospital at his bedside night and day to comfort him. Kaiser provided Palliative Care doctors and nurses as well as Respiratory Therapists who provided excellent and compassionate care. Relatives, friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Jason’s life, which will be held at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main Street, Vacaville, CA, on August 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
