Obituary for James William Wohlfarth
James 'Pappy' Wohlfarth passed away in Vacaville after a brief illness on Nov. 21. He was 85. James was born in Harrisburg, PA on Sept. 28, 1929 to George and Grace Wohlfarth. He enjoyed playing card games with his family and loved the Lord. He is an Alumni of Catawissa High School. James also served in the Air Force for five years and went on to work for United Airlines as a mechanic for 36 years before retiring in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathryn Houston-Wohlfarth; step-daughters, Ellen Highley, Sandy Patrick, Sherry Houston and Elizabeth Brill; grandchildren, Rebecca James, Tammi Patrick, Myles Patrick, Jeremy Brill and Jessica Brill; four great grandchildren and his close cousin, Mary Kathryn Violante. A visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to noon with a funeral service starting at noon, both at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. Pastor Tim May will officiate. Burial will take place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road., Dixon, on Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of James to the American Heart Association.
