Obituary for Jackie P. "Jack" Wade
Jack P. Wade, an honest man who loved his family, served his country and appreciated the great outdoors, passed away on Aug. 31, 2017. As an educator who remained proud and enthusiastic of his chosen profession, he worked with middle school students, their parents and his coworkers in the Vacaville Unified and Travis Unified school districts for over 30 years. Born in Missouri to parents, Paul and Goldie Wade, he grew up on a farm, joined the Navy as a young man. While serving in the Pacific on the USS Rochester during the Korean War he came to port in California several times, learned to treasure the environment of California and lived in Solano County for the remainder of his life. He graduated from Solano Community College and Sacramento State University and continued his education throughout his years as a teacher. Survived by his brother, Billy C. Wade, of Missouri and his family; Jack’s immediate family includes his wife, Joan 'JoAn'; his daughter, Lucinda and her husband, Jim Winkler; granddaughter, Kristi Winkler; grandson and wife, Clayton and Sarah Winkler and their children, Mya and Zac. The family invites those who wish to honor Jack to visit with us between 5:30 and 7 p.m., with memorial service to honor Jack’s life, at 7 pm., on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main Street, Vacaville, California.
