Obituary for Hurley 'Joe' Fontenot
Hurley Joe Fontenot, 81, passed away January 12th at Vacavalley Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Eunice, LA, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served 20 years, before retiring in 1967. Following his military service, he worked for American Home Foods for another 20 years, retiring in 1996. Joe enjoyed being a Cub Scout leader, bowling and golf.
Joe leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Norma; daughters Barbara Thompson of Vacaville and Lori Neugebauer of Oklahoma City, OK; sons and daughters-in-law Hurley J. Jr. and Vicki of Greenville, TX, Michael and Juliann of San Antonio, TX; James and Candy of Seaside; sister Jen Fusilier; grandchildren, Tricia Thompson of Vacaville, Kelly Jo Thompson, Rachael Fontenot, Tom Fontenot, Mike Fontenot, Steven Fontenot, Jennifer Neugebauer, Christopher Neugebauer, and Erin Fontenot; great-grandchildren, Chelsey and Joanne Friel of Vacaville and Kayden Fontenot. He was preceded in death by his brother Stafford; sister Ida Guillory; son-in-law Steve Thompson; sister-in-law Laura Fontenot; and brother-in-law Ron Fusilier.
Graveside service will be held Friday, February 5 at 11:30am at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
