Obituary for Henry 'Hank' J. Avila
October 22, 1923 - March 28, 2010 Henry "Hank" J. Avila, loving husband of, Diana, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, March 28, 2010. Henry was a proud Veteran who served our Country in WWII. Hank worked for American Home Foods, Inc., as a supervisor, and after 35 years, retired in November 1985. Many years were spent as a member of the Vacaville Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed trips to Lake Tahoe, NBA basketball, and daily walks. His love of life, family, neighbors and the many friends he had was his joy. Hank was preceded in death by parents, Domingo and Louise Avila; brother, Vernon; and sister, Emily Olivera. To carry on his memory is daughter, Julia, wife of Joseph Schaffer; granddaughters, Kimberly, wife of Alex Bondarenko; Triston Schaffer, and Helen Schaffer; great-grandchildren, Devin, Alexis, Brooke and Emma. Grave side services were given by Father John Tran Nguyen of St Mary's Catholic Church, on April 6, at 2 p.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. God be with you, Papa Hank.
