Obituary for Henry "Big Hank" Howarth
Henry "Big Hank" Howarth passed away peacefully on the evening of July 23rd. Surrounding him as he fell into his eternal rest were his loving wife, devoted children, and beloved siblings.

Hank was born in Los Angeles in 1947; The son of Harry and Betty Howarth, younger brother to Brenda Reed, and big bro to Kenneth Howarth and Carole Nelson.

An avid sports fanatic, Hank was always just looking for "a good game." He especially loved baseball, playing minor league for the Dodgers before a knee injury ended his big league dreams. He later continued to play softball for Vacaville City Leagues, and had a blast coaching his son in Vacaville Little League for many years. His daughter would eventually convert him into Giant's fan after attending college in San Francisco.

When Hank wasn't cheering on some sporting event, you could find him taking trips to Reno, his favorite city. He was a sucker for a good Hallmark movie, loved ice cream and peanut butter, and taking his best friends, shetland sheepdogs Dodger and Luna, to play frisbee at the park.

Above all though, Hank loved most his wife Janice. Hank met his wife in Chico, where she was attending Chico State, in 1972. They became best friends first, and were married in beautiful Lake Tahoe in 1978; settling down in Vacaville and embarking on 38 wonderful years together. Their greatest accomplishment together was raising their two children.

Hank was a kind, generous soul who always put his family first. An outgoing storyteller with a big sense of humor, he'll be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Hank is survived by his wife Janie Bera Howarth, son Henry, and daughter Jana.

A private Celebration of Life will be held.
