Obituary for Helen M. (Bea) Vigil
Helen passed away peacefully Feb 4, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Helen was born July 17,1926 in West Frankfort, IL, to Roy and Dana Mitchell. She was one of four sisters.
Helen was raised in Illinois and went to school at University of Illinois, graduated with a BS in education and a minor in Art. She taught for 40 years in Illinois, Alaska and Vacaville.

Helen met her Husband Frank while visiting her sister in Alaska. After 3 days they decided to get married and would have been married 62 years this August. Helen taught at Hemlock and Orchard Elementary schools. She still remembered all her students.
She kept very active golfing, shopping, Cache Creek, lunching with her friends, traveling and Bunko. She loved to paint and her house was full of all her paintings.
Most of all, she was a cancer survivor. Helen loved her children, grandchildren and great-children. All her grandchildren and their friends called her Grandma B.
Helen is survived by her husband, Frank; children (Christine) Michael, Michelle (Richard) Vieira, Tom (Susan); grandchildren Aimee (David) Kudlo, Katie Vigil, Ethan (Lauren) Payne, Joshua Payne, Misty (Seth) Thompson, Kendra (Stephen) Wells; great-grandchildren, Jameson Payne, Ausbin Wells, Sully Knight Thompson, Eliza Thompson; and sister Kay Hildum.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sisters Merna and Janiece.

Services are private but an open house will be held Monday, Feb 20th, 1-5 pm at Bea and Frank’s home. In lieu of flowers, please donate a book to your local school library in her name.
