Obituary for Helen Julia Maier
Helen Maier, longtime resident of Vacaville of more than 60 years, passed away peacefully on Monday in Vacaville surrounded by her children. She was born in Fresno to George and Julia Bosson, August 19th, 1920. She went to be with her Lord, Monday evening, May 11. She was 94 years old. Helen led an adventuresome and interesting life as the wife of WWII veteran , Sr. Master Sgt. Alex Maier and as one of the managing supervisors for the Travis Air Force Base Exchange for more than 20 years. After she retired, she volunteered at Vacavalley Hospital and Vacaville Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Alex. Survived by daughters, Toni and Stanlee; son Bruce; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, May 18th at 1pm, at McCune Garden Chapel followed by interment in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the WWII Memorial Fund, Disabled Veterans of America or Wounded Warriors.
