Obituary for Helen Anne Laforet
Helen Anne Laforet of Suisun City passed away on March 28. Helen was the fifth of six children born to Wilbur and Rose (Schneider) Chapin of Watertown, SD. In 1945, the family moved to Richmond, CA where Helen attended Richmond High School. Following a move to Fairfield in 1947, Helen graduated from Armijo High School in 1948. She met her future husband, Martin while working in San Francisco. Helen married Martin on June 22, 1952, her devoted husband of over 60 years. Helen was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was known for her kind words and warm smile. Helen is survived by her husband, Martin; children, Stephen, Anne, Jeanne, and Lisa (Bob); grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Robert, and Matt (fiancée Brianna); sister, Ione Chapin, and many loving nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Merton Chapin; and sisters, Bernice Davis, Betty McPherson, and Darlene Gonsalves. A service for Helen will be at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, April 10, at McCune Garden Chapel.
