Obituary for George H. Wells
George Howard Wells age 86, passed to eternal life on December 3, 2014 following a long illness. George was raised in Berkeley, CA and was the only child of Sally Belle Johns Wells and Frank Howard Wells. Joining the Navy as a Medical Corp Man at the end of WWII, George later graduated from San Francisco State University. His career was principally with the State Department of Corrections. He also worked as an Organization Development Consultant. His favorite job however, was being a cook on a tugboat in the San Francisco Bay in his youth. George was a family man. Married to Nancy Eklund Wells for 55 years, they had four children: Jennifer Mathews (Vince), Peter Wells (Shawna), Ingra Eklund Wells (deceased) and Chris Simpson (Sandy), nine beloved grandchildren, Sherida, Chad, Brittney, Chelsea, Maddy, Chandler, Olivia, Sebastian and Ingra, as well as five great grandchildren, Mia, Haley, Kodi, Sam and Cooper. Besides the treasure of his family, George loved his long time “AC buddies”, his pets, sports (UCD Aggies and Cal Bears) and art. George also loved to dance and sometimes found himself solo. In his last years, confined to bed, George often said he had “a great life.” He was peaceful, grateful and very open to God’s love for him. The Holy Mass will be Tuesday December 9, 2014 at 11:00 at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church celebrated by Father Michael Vaughn and Father Carlos Farfan and assisted by Deacon John King. If one wishes, donations in George’s memory may be given to Valley of the Sacred Heart Co-op, c/o Chris Wells Simpson 210 Peters Ave. Dixon 95620 or Dixon Teen Center, PO Box 403 Dixon 95620. The family thanks everyone for their love and support.
