George Alan Moeser, a proud U.S. Air Force veteran and retired California Highway Patrol officer, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by his family.
Born in Nyack, New York, to William and Dorothy Moeser, George led a life of dedicated service and deep love for his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan; his children, Megan (married to Matt Duncan), Becky (married to Nick Santini), and Katherine (partner to Matt Marrocco); his nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and his sister, Susan Moeser.
George graduated from Texas Christian University in May 1971. He served as a police officer in Hurst, Texas, from 1971 to 1973, then as a navigator on a C-141 in the U.S. Air Force from September 1973 to July 1979. In 1980, he graduated as valedictorian of the California Highway Patrol Academy and went on to serve as both a patrol officer and a training officer, retiring from the Solano County CHP office in 2006.
George was known for his love of dogs, gardening, coffee with friends at Panera, weekly dinners at Murillo’s, and cherished trips to Hawaii. He was often recognized around town walking his dogs or taking them for rides in his truck.
