Obituary for Fred Boes Jr.
Long time Solano County, resident, Fred Boes Jr., 93, passed away on Sept. 23, at home surrounded by family, following a brief illness.He leaves his wife of 67 years, Florence (Leardini) Boes; daughters, Patricia (Allen) Parenteau and Pam Boes; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jeremy) Moseley, Kristen (Claudiu) Cioloca, Karin (Justin) Pacheco and Kent Boes; 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives.He was born and raised in San Francisco, the son of Fred and Helene (Buchholz) Boes. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Fred Boes, and 5 brothers and sisters.In 1942, while working at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, he met his wife. He later an accountant for 40 years, retiring after 25 years with Sheldon Oil Company.He was an avid sportsman, playing baseball for many years. He was a longtime golfer, bowler, and camper/fisherman. He was also a Golden Gloves Boxer.A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel. A prayer service will follow on Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. Father Ruel Mesa will be officiating.
