Obituary for Frank Morales Alarcon Sr.
Frank, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home in West Sacramento with his wife, Jeannie, by his side.
Born in Indio, Calif., Frank came to the Dixon area in 1953 where he worked as a farmhand on the Jack Phillips Ranch just outside of town.
In 1965, with wife Leonor and their boys, they relocated to town where he worked at the Armour Meat Processing Plant for years. Frank then changed jobs to work at the Elk Grove Plant. He finished his working days with the Elk Grove School District.
A lifelong Raiders fan, he stuck with his team through thick and thin. He always had a special interest for history, especially World War II, being in the Army reserves as a young man.
He will mostly be remembered for being a family man, having six sons and raising them with a firm and loving hand.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Alarcon; mother, Maria Quihuis; stepfather, Aurelio Quihuis; sister, Phyliss Soto; and grandson, Christopher Alarcon.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Sargent; sister, Lydia Salmeron; sons, Frank Alarcon Jr. and wife Tina, David Alarcon and Karen DeVries, Steven Alarcon, John Alarcon and wife Danelle, James Alarcon and wife Stacey, Robert Alarcon and wife Leanne; daughter Vicki Dunham and husband Roger; stepdaughters, Shauna Durrant and Daureen Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family and his many friends are welcome to attend a funeral mass on Dec. 22, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Peters Church in Dixon.
A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after graveside service at the Dixon Moose Lodge.
