Obituary for Frank 'Frankie' Michael Rubio
Frank “Frankie” Michael Rubio passed away peacefully at his home in Vacaville, Friday morning, Jan. 17, with his sons and sister at his side. He was 71. He was born on May 10, 1942 in Napa. Frank was preceded in death by his Papa Ysidro; parents, Frank and Sarah Rubio; son, Frank Troy Rubio and loving wife, Jane Rubio. Frank grew up in Vacaville and was a lifelong proud Vaca High Bulldog. He graduated from Vaca High in 1960 and went on to work in various jobs. He was a produce manager at Safeway, a Foreman with Wentzel Farmer’s and retired as a Supervisor from the Rite Aid warehouse. Frank was a passionate and lifelong San Francisco Giants and Forty Niner’s fan. He loved to spend time traveling and camping all over California with his family and friends. He was an active member of the Vaca High Alumni and took pride in participating in the yearly scholarship awards that were given to students. Frank was also known for his cooking and gardening ability. Frank is survived by his loving sister, Virginia Rubio Romo; children, Sean (Jamie) Rubio, Todd (Marsha) Rubio, Warren (Darlene) Rubio, Kami McBride (Michael) Conyer; grandchildren, Christina, Gabriella, Celina, Estevan, Caitlin, Sarah, Keith, Gabriel, Jude, Melia and Frankie, and great-granddaughter, Giuliana. He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews. The Rubio family invites everyone to pay their respects and celebrate Frank’s life with them. A visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Vacaville Elmira Cemetery. Please join the family back at St. Mary’s Parish Hall immediately after the cemetery service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Frankie to the American Cancer Society.
