We are saddened to announce that Francisco “Frank” Fernandez passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, at the age of 92. He was surrounded with love and comfort by wis wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frank was born July 23, 1931, in El Pilar de Lubrin, Almeria where he met the love of his life Pilar. He settled in Vacaville and raised 2 daughters, Christina and Angelita “Angie”.
He was an exemplary employee at American Home Foods for over 35 years where he worked as food production operator and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He was known to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Kiko”. Frank loved to work in his yard growing fruit trees, his annual vegetable garden and tending to his grape vines. Frank was a hard worker and stayed active. No one could keep him down. Up until a few months ago you would find him walking downtown with his cane to run errands or on a ladder pruning his trees. He had a passion for soccer and all things “Spain”
He was selfless and always put his family before himself. He was loved by many, and his sweet smile will be missed.
His is survived by His wife Pilar Fernandez, daughters Christina and Angie, grandchildren Tony Turner, Franky Gourdin, Jessica Goodman and great-grandchildren Juliette and Liam Turner. Brother, Rafael, nephew, Juan Antonio Fernandez and niece Angie Fernandez Garcia. He was preceded in death by his Father Juan Fernandez and Mother Filomena Fernandez
