He was born September 29, 1933, in Casper, Wyoming, the son of Francis LeRoy Gallington, II and Alice M. (Ormbsy) Collins, both deceased. Additionally, Roy was predeceased by his sister Delmar Dickenson of Oregon.

He pioneered his first church in Glen Avon, CA (Wayside Assembly of God), then Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Mira Loma, CA. During his years of pastorship, he mentored several church members who now serve as pastors of their own churches. Roy’s fellowship with the church and congregation meant everything to him.
Additionally, Roy worked part-time for C.L. James (his brother-in-law) who owned C.L. James Tree Service in Riverside, CA. He also worked part-time for Harold James (his brother-in-law), as a Heavy Equipment Operator. After retiring from the ministry, Roy had a small Tree Service of his own, “Trees by Roi,” in Riverside, CA.
Roy enjoyed being with his family and friends. His girls meant so much to him. He always looked forward to being with them especially when they came to visit and take him out to lunch, which was several times per week!
