Obituary for Francis (Fran) W. Belanger
Francis W. Belanger, USAF Retired, (Fran)
MSgt Francis W. Belanger, USAF Retired in 1977, went to be with the Lord December 12, 2021, peacefully at home, surrounded by the comfort of family, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic cancer. He was born in Montpelier Vermont on May 14, 1934.
He retired from the USAF (1977) where he proudly dedicated 22 years of service to his country. He was awarded several medals and awards including the Distinguished Flying Cross.
He then went on to work for a federal contractor and Civil Service before full retirement. He enjoyed vacationing, RVing, and camping and being surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clara and Arthur Belanger, siblings, Renfield, Robert, Donna and Nancy, former wife Ann and son Jamey.
Fran is survived by his beloved wife Gayle, siblings Arthur, Conrad and Elizabeth, daughter Terry (Rod) Elsdon, son Jody Belanger, daughter Kelley (Rick) Larcade, daughter Corey (Darrell) Scholzen, stepson Matthew (Karen) Simmons, stepdaughter Jill Rios and 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Services are as follows: A Memorial service at Rolling Hills Community Church, Vacaville, Ca, January 20th at 12:00 noon, followed at 2:30 with a private interment at Sacramento National Cemetery in Dixon, CA with U.S. Air Force honors. There will be a reception following back at Rollings Hills Church.
