Obituary for Eva Giannoni
Eva Giannoni passed away unexpectedly on July 17th at the age of 91. Eva grew up in Alameda. She married the love of her life, Tony, on April 16, 1944. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage until his death in 2009. They resided in San Francisco for a few years, then lived on Liberty Island where Eva helped with their farming business. In 1962 they moved to Dixon. Eva was a member of St. Peters Church. She was a Past President and member of Soroptimist of Dixon for over 40 years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who would bring her joy each time they visited. She loved to cook her famous pasta for them. Eva enjoyed her trips with friends to Cache Creek Casino and her monthly Bunco group. She was preceded in death by her husband Tony, brother Aldo and sister Bruna. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Tony and Debra Giannoni of Carmichael and Bob and Becky Giannoni of Dixon, grandchildren Angie and Matt DeWilde of Mill Valley, Gina and John Bell of Sacramento, Christina and Sam Hegje of Lincoln, Nicolas Giannoni of Sacramento, Bobbi and Loren Dougherty of Dixon, great-grandchildren Trevor and Nathan Bell, Brooke and Tate Hegje, Carly, Jayci and Landon Dougherty. A visitation will be held at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon Thursday, July 23 from 5 - 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peters Church in Dixon at 10 a.m. Friday, July 24. Burial will follow at Silveyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Soroptimist of Dixon, "A Touch From Above", P. O. Box 472, Dixon, CA 95620.
