Obituary for Elizabeth Boteilho Souza
Elizabeth Boteilho Souza was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Puunene, Maui. She passed March 7, after a long battle with Dementia, surrounded by her family. She was the last of her nine siblings who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Souza. They shared 59 1/2 years of marriage. Elizabeth was a proud Puunene girl; as she would refer to herself, especially to the grandkids when asked. She was a homemaker and worked at Libby’s Pineapple in Maui, she worked for Basic Onion and Vegetable Plant in Vacaville and Vacaville Fruit Company. She enjoyed crocheting, taking care of kids and being with family. She leaves behind daughters, Caroline son-in-law Don Silva; Charlene (Alex) Oregon and, proudly, her grandkids, Mike Silva, Randy (Airionna) Oregon, Emily (Kevin) Saucerman, Eva (John) Rodrigues; great grandkids, Austin Rodrigues and Lexy Church; many family and friends, who will cherish the memories shared. Visitation will be held Monday, March 11, from 5 to 8 .p.m., with rosary at 7 p.m., at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 350 Stinson Ave., Vacaville. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Makawao, Maui at a later date.
