Obituary for Eleanor "Ellie" Jacobs
Ellie Jacobs passed away April 3. She was born to John and Caroline (Miller) Schall on November 24, 1936 in Devils Lake, North Dakota. She grew up in a small town in Crary, North Dakota and attended Crary public school, graduating from high school in 1955. Ellie met Harvey while working at a malt shop in Devils Lake where he always got extra scoops of ice cream. They were united in marriage on February 9, 1957 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Church in Crary. They established their home in Dixon in 1958. Here they would raise their five children, Kim, Kelly, Kevin, Kerry and Kyle. Ellie worked for Longs Drug and CVS for 25 years. She loved visiting wit her many customers looking for that special Hallmark Card. She took pride in making sure her cards were stocked and in line. She was very active in Sacred Heart of Y.L.I. serving as president many times over the years. Her faith was first and foremost. Ellie is survived by her children, Kim Jacobs (Phil) Carrier, Kelly Jacobs (Tom) Halbasch, Kevin (Becky) Jacobs, Kerry Jacobs, and Kyle Jacobs; grandchildren, Kayla, Kraig, Kassie, Brady, Jake, Kent, Karli, Keylee, Kortni, Heidi, Katie, Dakota, Blake and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Lahna, Isaiah, Kennedy, Mia, Anthony, Nash, Chase, Kinsley, Hallie; sister Esther Mason and Best Friend from Price, Utah and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harvey Jacobs; 5 brothers; 6 sisters. Mass will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, Monday, April 12 at 10am. Interment in Silveyville Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to:
