Obituary for Effie Rebecca Ricketts
Effie Ricketts, 92, of Vacaville passed away in the comfort of her own home on June 23rd at 5:45 am in the arms of her only daughter. Effie was born to James W. Oliver and June Mathalin Camper on January 13, 1918 at 4:00 am in Blacksburg, Virginia. She was the oldest of 10 children. She met a Marine named Everett L. Ricketts of Camp leJeune, NC and married him on June 9, 1950 in Onslow, NC. Shortly after their marriage Everett joined the Air Force. They had 3 children and traveled the world together, going places like Pakistan, Hawaii and Alaska. Effie was nicknamed Road Runner since she loved to walk, walking up to 8 miles every day. Effie loved the outdoors, birds, flowers and cats. She loved her home her spoiled rotten 16 year old cat, Socks, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They called her Ms. Becky, Granny or great-great. Effie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis & Peggy Perdue of Virginia, Ricky Lee and Lisa Ricketts of NC; son, Larry Ray of Vacaville; daughter, Susan Forsythe; grandchildren, Jonah Lime (Matty), April Forsythe, Sarah Ruth (Kyle) and great-grandchildren, Shyanne Bravo and Chloe Camiel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Everett L. Ricketts on January 31, 2000. We are at peace knowing that Dad came with the Lord to take mom into eternity with him. We will miss you and see ya when we look at ya!
