Obituary for Edward John Drew Jr.
Edward John Drew Jr, passed away May 18, 2018 at the age of 83 in Sacramento, California. John was born March 29, 1935 in the District of Columbia. He is survived by his wife Donna Tillson Drew, his four children, Maria Anne "Mimi" Drew, Edward John Drew III, Elizabeth Frances Drew, and Daniel Patrick Drew II, and four grandchildren; Edward John "EJ" Drew IV, James Peter "Jimmy" Drew, Gideon Malachi Drew, and Lucia Marie Drew. He was preceded in death by his parents of Camino, El Dorado Co, CA, RAdm Edward John Drew, USN originally of Macoupin County, IL and Virginia Chalmers Matthews Drew originally of Georgetown, DC. He attended the Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad, CA from 1948‐1954. He attended George Washington University where he pledged to Sigma Chi, next the University of Maryland, and later he received several certificates from the College of San Mateo. He was a business owner, having been a founding partner in the Dolphin Real Estate Enterprises based in Pacifica, CA. He was a Licensed Real Estate Broker, known as an Escrow Expert, and throughout his many years in business, he had dealings within all aspects of the Real Estate market. John was living in Dixon, Solano County, California for the last 5 years, he lived in Fort Bidwell, Modoc County, California for the previous 14 years, and spent 33 years living in Pacifica, San Mateo Co, CA. Though growing‐up his official home was Chevy Chase, Maryland, he lived in many places as a Navy brat; Coronado, CA, Norfolk, VA, Pensacola, FL, Alameda, CA, Los Alamitos, CA, and Tangier, Morocco. He was at one time a member of the Rotary Club, the American Legion, a Jaycee, a Lion, an Elk, a Moose, a life time member of the NRA, and a Freemason, and he brought Pop Warner Football to Pacifica. He was a Naval veteran and a trained volunteer with the Fort Bidwell Fire Dept. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vacaville, and St. Peter Catholic Church in Dixon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sigma Chi Foundation, 1714 Hinman Ave, Evanston, IL 60201, or at sigmachi.org. Interment will be in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, an exact date has not yet been determined. An official Mass will not be held, the family requests that those who knew him, pray for his soul to be at peace, by praying for him in your own way.
